  • The long, curved leaves resemble the eyebrows of elderly sages in traditional Chinese art, symbolizing wisdom and longevity. Hence the name Shou Mei (Longevity Eyebrow).

  • With several years of natural storage, this tea has gained depth and warmth compared to fresh Shou Mei. Aging enhances its body, creates dried-fruit sweetness, and develops herbal-woody layers, making it a robust and restorative aged white tea.

  • In Chinese tea culture, there is a saying: “One-year tea, three-year medicine, seven-year treasure” (一岁茶，三年药，七年宝). It means white tea becomes smoother and more beneficial as it ages. Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

Recommended Teaware:
Porcelain gaiwan or Yixing clay teapot.

Water Temperature:
100 °C (boiling, suitable for aged white tea).

Brewing Instructions:

  1. (Optional) Quick rinse with boiling water to awaken the leaves.

  2. Tea-to-water ratio: 1 g per 30 ml (1:30).
    Example: 5–6 g for a 150 ml gaiwan.

  3. First infusion:

    • Gaiwan: ~20–25 s at 100 °C

    • Yixing: ~50 s at 100 °C

  4. Subsequent infusions: Add ~10 s with each round.

This 2020 Shou Mei can be brewed 6–7 times, gradually releasing aged sweetness, dried-fruit richness, and warming herbal notes.
