Celebrating Ghibli Day 2025 with Tea, Stories, and Community

On May 25th, we were thrilled to take part in Ghibli Day 2025, held at Bio Rex Lasipalatsi and organized by the Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy (HIFF) in collaboration with Cinema Mondo. This year’s event was a special celebration of Studio Ghibli’s 40th anniversary, and it brought together fans of all ages to enjoy a full day of films, creativity, and fun.

In addition to beloved Ghibli film screenings, the event featured a vibrant side program including a Ghibli-themed treasure hunt, a cosplay contest, art workshops, and puzzle stations — all inspired by the imaginative worlds of Miyazaki and Takahata.

We at Teetao Teehuone were honored to be part of the festivities, bringing a touch of tea culture to this magical day.

• Create their own herbal tea blends, using a curated selection of dried flowers and botanicals. Many took time to explore scent, texture, and color while crafting their personal infusion.

• Enjoy free tastings of our favorite premium Chinese teas, brewed on-site in the traditional Gongfu style. It was a beautiful moment to slow down, sip slowly, and connect through flavor.

We were overjoyed to meet so many friendly faces — from longtime tea lovers to curious first-timers. Watching people discover their favorite combinations or take their first sip of Gongfu-brewed oolong was an experience we’ll never forget.
