Big Tips Silver Needle - Yunnan Silver Needle - “白毫银针大芽“
A rare white tea crafted from thick, silvery buds grown in the high mountains of Shangri-La, Yunnan. Naturally sweet and smooth, with notes of wildflower honey, alpine herbs, and soft fruit. The bold, fleshy buds give this tea a round body and long, comforting finish.
All ingredients of this tea are 100% organically grown.
The Tea Story
Why is this Silver Needle special?
It is crafted from large-leaf Yunnan varietal buds grown in high mountain tea gardens. Compared with the delicate Fujian style, its plump buds create a deeper golden liquor, fuller body, richer floral and fruity character, honey-like sweetness and alpine freshness.
Fujian vs. Yunnan:
Fujian Silver Needle is grassy, delicate and refined; Yunnan Silver Needle is floral, bolder and fuller-bodied.
Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method
Recommended teaware: Porcelain gaiwan.
Water: 80 °C
Ratio: 1 g per 30 ml (5 g for 150 ml)
First infusion: 1 minute, then decant fully
Later infusions: add 10 seconds each round
Pour along the gaiwan wall, avoiding a direct hit on the buds; cover to let steam awaken the tea. Brew 5–6 times.
