From picking and sorting to shaping and drying, every step of Houkui’s production is meticulously performed by hand by skilled tea artisans. This traditional craftsmanship gives the tea its distinct and enduring character.

The dry leaves are long, flat, and elegant, showing the artistry of their handmade processing. When brewed, Houkui offers a bright, clear liquor with a fresh and light aroma.

Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

Recommended teaware: Use a gaiwan or a tall glass to showcase the long, flat leaves as they stand upright and gradually sink while brewing. Yixing clay teapots are not recommended, as their porous nature may suppress the tea’s fresh and orchid-like fragrance.

Water temperature: 70–80 °C.

Brewing: Use 1 g tea per 50 ml water (about 3 g for a 150 ml gaiwan). Steep the first infusion for about 2 minutes at 70–80 °C, then increase each following infusion by 10–15 seconds. Enjoy at least 5 infusions.
